National Society Daughters of the American Revolution New Milford, connecticut



We volunteer our services throughout the year. Below are a few of the opportunities our chapter is proud to support:
  • Veterans and active Armed Forces:
  • Sends goods to deployed men and women overseas.
  • Honors the Blue Star and Gold Star Mothers.
  • Supports the Rocky Hill Veterans Home and Health Care facility throughout the year.
  • Participates in Wreaths Across America.
  • Sponsored bringing the Vietnam Memorial replica to New Milford in collaboration with "The Wall That Heals" committee members.
  • Created lap blankets for the Rocky Hill Veterans Home.
  • Childrens Organizations:
  • Collaborates yearly with the Charles Merrimen Society, C.S.C.A.R. on projects.
  • Creates Valentines for veterans with the Girl Scouts of America.
  • Historic Preservation:
  • Honors Roger Sherman at the New Milford Town Hall.
  • Maintains the CTDAR Washington Oak Tree Park in Gaylordsville, Connecticut.
  • Nominates local people for NSDAR awards.
  • Education:
  • Reads to preschool children.
  • Hosts programs for the New Milford Senior Center.
  • Sponsors a literacy program.
  • Promotes history essay contests in the schools.
  • Presents the DAR Good Citizen Award and Scholarship, among others to students yearly.
